Bluebell Non Scripta is the true native form of Bluebell native to Western Europe including Ireland. It is a very important species to preserve and by planting this native 'wildflower' in your garden you are helping to maintain and promote native biodiversity. Bluebells produce long spikes of 4 to 15 drooping bell-shaped flowers that are a vivid blue/purple. The flowers produce an amazing sweet scent. Bluebells are an important plant for bees and other pollinating insects. Best grown in moist but well drained soil. They are particularly suited to growing under deciduous trees which provide shade and leaf litter.
