One of the best purple-leaved cherry trees. Prunus Royal Burgundy is an easy to grow medium sized deciduous tree. It is closely related to Prunus Kanzan. It is highly prized for it's year round interest.  Masses of double pink flowers appear in spring with the bronze coloured leaves. The leaves darken to a deep wine which provides fantastic attention grabbing contrast in the garden. In autumn the leaves turn scarlet red.
