Red Sun - Shallot Sets - 500g - Supplied Loose 

Red Sun Shallots are considered the best red skinned variety available. They produce a white fleshed, tasty shallot with excellent storage properties. Harvests produce high yields. Very versatile and can be used in a wide range of dishes. Great mild flavour for use in salads/cooking and pickling.

We advise that you unpack your sets when delivered and spread out in a light cool place until until you are ready to plant.

500g is approx 15-20 large sets. Increase quantity in shopping basket as required         

eg 2 x 500g is approx 30-40 large sets etc. ​​

Shallot Sets Growing Tips

• Plant - Feb-May
• Harvest - August-September
• Plant in well drained soil in full sun that has been prepared a few weeks in advance by incorporating compost/manure/fertiliser. Do not plant in freshly manured soil.
• Plant with the tips just protruding above the soil with 12cm between each set and 30cm between each row.
