Apple 'Katy' is a medium sized eating apple. It can sometimes be known as Katja, refering to it's country of origin, Sweden. The skin is bright red over a yellow/green background. The flesh is pale cream, very juicy and on the softer side of crunchy. It is well suited to cooler climates and is one of the easiest apple varieties to grow. An extra bonus for gardeners is that it flowers over a long period, helping to pollinate other apple varieties. Resistant to most dieases, especially canker. It is in pollination group 3.
