Crocosmia Emily McKenzie is an easy to grow and very hardy perennial plant. Striking orange and red coloured flowers are produced during late summer into autumn. The leaves are tall and sword shaped giving it a wonderful architectural shape. Great displays either planted in beds or in large pots.

Crocosmia Growing Tips

• Choose a site in full sun or partial shade and well drained soil
• Plant out in spring when the soil is not too wet or start them off in the greenhouse in pots during late winter or early spring
• Plant the bulbs approx 10cm deep in well drained soil and incorporate well rotten organic matter or compost.
• Space each bulb only a few cm apart to produce a nice clump when grown.
• Cut back to ground level in autumn and mulch for the winter.
• Clumps over time can quickly become congested leading to poor flowering. Clumps should be divided every few years to prevent this.
